Ministry

 Teaching, Leaning and Praying

Expressions

Expressions is a bible study group that meets most Mondays from 12noon to 1pm in the church. We read, study and reflect on the bible together.

GiFT & Refresh

GiFT and Refresh are our study, learning and fellowship evenings. We meet about once a fortnight during the school terms both in small groups and as a larger group.

Prayer and Healing

The laying on of hands with prayers for healing form an important part of our ministry as we seek to be a channel for God’s healing love. Prayers for healing are offered on the first  Sunday at Evensong, the third Sunday at the 9.30 Eucharist and at the Iona style healing service on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm

Youth and Children

A Sunday School takes place during our 9.30 Sunday service. This service is followed by Connect  which is a service that specially caters for children and their families. There is also a Toddle-in group which takes place on Tuesday afternoons for pre-school children and their carers.

A small Youth Group has meeting for the past 18 months. We hope that this will continue to meet in the Autumn.

Pastoral Care and Support

Readers

Holy Trinity has three Readers who are trained and licenced to preach, teach and assist with pastoral care and support in the parish.

Authorised Pastoral Assistants

The church has four commissioned, or in training, APAs. APAs particularly help to offer pastoral care and support in the parish. Their work is quite varied but includes monitoring the sick and visiting them, supporting new Christians and people new to the church and helping those who are finding life a struggle for what ever reason.

Home Communion and Nursing Homes

We have a busy programme of taking communion to people who are housebound or in Nursing Homes. We are always glad to receive requests from anyone who would welcome this ministry.

Funeral and Bereavement Ministry

Holy Trinity is heavily involved in funeral ministry and we try to make funerals both a celebration of a person’s life and a commending of their life into God’s eternal care. We also want to offer the best possible care to the bereaved. As part of this we have a bereavement team to support those who need help and we have regular memorial services where loved ones are remembered.

Ministry at Holy Trinity

Alongside our worship Holy Trinity strives to be a church in which learning, prayer, fellowship & pastoral care & support are taken seriously. We have a ministry team made up of both lay and ordained people.
